Swim Meet Resources
About These Resources
Prepare for meet day with practical guidance for swimmers and families, helpful tools for volunteers, and materials teams can share.
Use the resources below to mark swimmer arms, understand meet roles, organize line-ups, and help families find the web app.
Mark Swimmer Arms
The swimmer's arm must be completely dry before marking. Please complete all arm markings at home before leaving for the meet, using a black Sharpie permanent marker so the markings stay clear in the water.
- Draw three columns labeled E, H, and L for Event, Heat, and Lane.
- If the swimmer is in a relay, add (R) beside the E/H/L headings and write the swimmer's relay position in parentheses, such as (3).
- Write each swim on its own row using the numbers from the meet line-up.
- Check every row against the line-up, then let the ink dry before the swimmer gets wet.
Adding the distance and stroke beside the grid can help swimmers and clerk-of-course volunteers confirm each race.
